Mills Reef Moffat Road Chardonnay

Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (1999 Vintage) says
Mills Reefs bottom-tier Chardonnay is an easy-drinking style with a touch of complexity. Delicious in its youth, the 1998 is a mouthfilling, creamy-soft wine with loads of flavour. The 1999 vintage is a blend of Hawke's Bay and Gisborne fruit; 60 per cent of the final blend was oak-aged and 20 per cent went through malolactic fermentation. A fruit-driven style, with less obvious "malo" influence than the 1998, it's full and fresh, with good weight and depth of citrusy fruit characters and a gentle seasoning of oak.
