Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (2010 Vintage) says
The classy 2010 vintage is a single-vineyard wine, hand-harvested at Bendigo, in Central Otago. It was mostly handled in tanks, but 30 per cent was fermented with indigenous yeasts in old French oak casks. A gently sweet style (27 grams/litre of residual sugar), it is medium-bodied (11.5 per cent alcohol), with vibrant lemon, apple and spice flavours showing lovely delicacy, poise and concentration. Tight and finely balanced, with a long finish, it has teal immediacy; drink now or cellar.

The debut 2008 vintage is a single-vineyard Central Otago wine, partly barrel-fermented and made in a medium style (29 grams/litre of residual sugar). A beautifully balanced wine with strong personality, it has rich, citrusy flavours, with a touch of complexity, and excellent delicacy and texture. Drink now or cellar.
