Mission Hawke's Bay Gewurztraminer

Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (1998 Vintage) says
In the past an easy-drinking style, fruity, citrusy, fresh and crisp, the quality of this wine took a big leap in 1998. Based on Green meadows fruit, harvested at over 24 brix and stop-fermented at 15 grams per litre of residual sugar (making it a medium style), it's a mouthfilling (14 per cent alcohol) wine with lovely, ripe, delicate fruit flavours of citrus fruits and spice. It could easily have been sold under the Mission's Reserve label. The 1999 vintage ($18) costs $5 more than the 1998.
