Jeremy Oliver (2008 Vintage) says
A fuller, more assertive shiraz from evenly ripened fruit that will reward time in the cellar. Its particularly floral and earthy bouquet of violets, mint and deeply concentrated small black and red berries is tightly knit with fresh, newish fine-grained oak and backed by suggestions of meatiness and menthol. Initially juicy and then more savoury towards the finish, it unfolds pristine layers of juicy black and red fruits, revealing a firmish, powdery spine of graphite-like tannins, finishing with excellent length and bright acidity.

Rob Geddes MW (2008 Vintage) says
Intense aromatic blackberry and plum pepper and meat stock; medium-bodied sweet fruit flavours and supple tannins very Clare. The 2009 has a savoury smoked meat and black berry fruit palate with accessible flavour and tannins.
