Montana Ren wick Estate Chardonnay

Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (2001 Vintage) says
This is Allied Domecq's top Marlborough Chardonnay. It is typically a tight, richly flavoured wine with citrusy characters and firm acidity in cooler years and creamy, tropical-fruit characters in warm years. The youthful, lemon/green 2001 vintage was hand-harvested, mostly in the Renwick Estate vineyard, whole-bunch pressed, and fermented and matured for 10 months in French oak barriques (40 per cent new), with 25 per cent malolactic fermentation. It's a refined, citrusy, concentrated wine with strong grapefruit and nut flavours, creamy, minerally elements and a firm, crisp finish.
