Michael Cooper (2002 Vintage) says
The 2002 vintage is a blend of Marlborough and Hawke's Bay grapes, matured in American (55 per cent) and French (45 per cent) oak casks. Full-coloured, with a spicy bouquet, it has good depth of blackcurrant, plum, coffee, green-leaf and toast flavours, with a smooth, dry finish.

The lovely debut 1996 vintage looks like a signpost to the future for Marlborough reds. French oak-aged, with deep colour and a ripe, brambly fragrance, it's a very full, rich wine with ripe blackcurrant/plum flavours, nutty oak, complexity and a firm yet supple finish. A great buy.
