Montana South Island Pinot Noir

Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (2008 Vintage) says
Since 2006, this multi-region blend has replaced the former Montana Marlborough Pinot Noir. Grown in Marlborough, Waipara and Central Otago, it is matured in stainless steel tanks, large oak cuves and French and European oak barriques. The 2008 vintage is enjoyable young, with gentle tannins and good depth of fresh, smooth plum and slight herb flavours.

Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh (2007 Vintage) says
Sound wine and, indeed, enjoyable drinking. There's a fair hit of stalky, almost bitter flavour here, but it adds interest more than it detracts. Tastes of rhubarb, plums and dark cherries, and it delivers plenty of flavour for the price - and reasonable tannin structure too. Needs a bit more of everything, though, to warrant a higher rating.
