Montana Terraces Estate Marlborough Pinot Noir

Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (2003 Vintage) says
The debut 2002 vintage was blended from grapes grown at Terraces Estate la young 8-hectare vineyard on 'a small spur adjacent to Brancott Estate'), and older Pinot Noir vines from nearby Fairhall Estate. (As the Terrace Estate vineyard matures, the proportion of grapes from this site will rise. ) Matured for a year in French oak barriques (40 per cent new), it is floral and fleshy, with generous plum and spice flavours, good savoury complexity and firm tannins. The deep ruby-hued 2003 is warm and mouthfilling, with rich, plummy, spicy flavours and firm underlying tannins. It's a youthful wine, best cellared to mid-2005+.
