Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2010 Vintage) says
Equal amounts of Frankland River and estate Denmark grapes were combined to make this wine, which spent 22 months in French oak. The hue is good, although not particularly deep, and the intensity and power of the dark, spicy/savoury fruits come as a surprise; add the impact of high-grade tannins, and the result is a top-quality wine.
Australian Wine Companion 2014 Edition 2013
James Halliday (2009 Vintage) says
Is the same 50/50% blend fo Frankland River and Denmark as the '10; a very good wine, with potent black fuits, licorice and spice; has great energy and length.

WINESTATE (2008 Vintage) says
Still a tight and youthful wine, with massive ripe, jubey varietal fruit, nice tannins and a long, lingering finish.
WINESTATE Volume 34 (2011) 2011
James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
Red-purple, still diffuse; the wine fully reflects its cool origins, 65% from Frankland River/35% from Denmark; there are strong pepper and spice nuances, plus fine, savoury tannins, but the wine has a lovely juicy core that runs through to the finish of the medium-bodied palate.
Australian Wine Companion 2012 2011
Ray Jordan (2008 Vintage) says
This shiraz comes from vineyards in Denmark and the Frankland River region. It's medium bodied with a fine elegant structure of tannin and fine-grained oak. The savoury fruit is augmented with a touch of subtle spicy oak. It will be a bit of a sleeper as it matures. Nice wine though.

Australian Wine Companion 2011 2010
Ray Jordan (2007 Vintage) says
This is a mix of Denmark estate grown fruit and some from Frankland River. Has a beautifully perfumed aroma of spices and light cedary plum. It's an appealing opening to an attractive medium bodied shiraz. Seamless well integrated palate with fine tannins and fine grained oak.
Ray Jordan's 2010 WA Wine Guide 2010
WINESTATE (2007 Vintage) says
Wide range of lavender, eastern spices and chocolaty aromas, with the same characters echoed on the palate.
Winestate 20082009
James Halliday (2005 Vintage) says
Medium- to full-bodied; abundant black cherry, licorice and spice on both bouquet and palate; the latter has complex texture, with ripe, slightly chewy, but not bitter, tannins.
Australian Wine Companion 2008 2007
James Halliday (2003 Vintage) says
Strong purple-red colour; intense spice, black cherry, blackberry fruit; spicy. Good oak handling.
