Moorooduc Estate The Moorooduc Chardonnay

Expert Reviews

Jeremy Oliver (2011 Vintage) says
Smooth, generous, but likely to mature relatively quickly, this gentle but quite viscous chardonnay has a waxy, floral bouquet of peach, melon and grapefruit backed by dusty, nutty, creamy and vanilla oak. With a creaminess enhanced by complex leesy notes, its round, juicy presence of peach, nectarine and tropical fruits finishes with pleasing length and a soft but refreshing acidity.

James Halliday (2009 Vintage) says
Bright, gleaming quartz-green; this comes from the oldest vines on the Mclntyre Vineyard, with a depth to the stone fruit and fig fruit beyond the other Moorooduc Chardonnays; in all 4 wines oak is a conveyance to allow barrel ferment and maturation with a by-product of cashew complexity.
Australian Wine Companion 2012 2011
Jeremy Oliver (2009 Vintage) says
An attempt at a very refined, contemporary style with a Spicy, lightly floral bouquet whose light quince-like citrusy fruit is backed by nutty, creamy oak, nuances of hessian and mineral. Pristine, fine and fluffy, with an ethereal, pulpy texture, it promises elegance and length but lacks genuine fruit impact.
