Morton Estate The Regent of Morton Red Blend

Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (2004 Vintage) says
Still on sale, the 2004 vintage is a Merlot-based blend, with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. A mouthfilling Hawke's Bay wine with full, developed colour, it is spicy and savoury, but now past its best.

Michael Cooper (2002 Vintage) says
Named after James Douglas, a sixteenth-century Regent of Morton, the debut 2002 vintage is a Merlot-based red (61 per cent), with 21 per cent Cabernet Sauvignon and 18 per cent Cabernet Franc. Matured in all-new French and American oak casks, it's a fragrant, strongly oaked, mouthfilling Hawke's Bay wine with fresh, vibrant blackcurrant, plum, herb and coffee flavours, tightly structured and youthful. Open 2006+.
