Moss Brothers Moses Rock Cabernet Merlot

Cracka Value Rating

Cracka Review

This is great value, succulent drinking from Moss Brothers and their Moses Rock Estate wines. The red sea parts with smells of hedgerow berries, blackcurrants, plums and a touch of choc mint, whilt the palate is fruit-sweet and juicy, withlicks of vanillian oak, fine tannins, and a smooth, lush finish. Enjoy with a nice beef casserole.

Winemaker's Notes

The 2011 Cabernet Franc Merlot is a wine of great character and finesse matured in a mix of new and one year old French oak barriques. A sunny and warm vintage in 2011 produced red wines deep in colour and strong varietal characters with rich texture and silky tannins.

A blend of equal parts of Cabernet Franc and Merlot the outstanding 2011 while drinking beautifully now will reward patience if cellared for up to five years.

Appearance: Deep crimson red with magenta hues.

Nose: A perfumed bouquet redolent with forest fruits and cedar like, vanillin oak notes.

Palate: A mid palate packed with sweet bramble fruit flavours followed by a long finish.
