James Halliday (2010 Vintage) says
Amazing colour; the palate tracks the colour, with black fruits to the fore, and substantial tannins also present. As much like petit verdot as merlot, the points are for courage.

James Halliday (2005 Vintage) says
Light- to medium-bodied; good varietal character expression with a mix of cassis and black olive plus spicy nuances.

James Halliday (2001 Vintage) says
Medium red-purple; the moderately intense bouquet, with berry, leaf and mint aromas, the oak in restraint, is followed by a strongly varietal palate with earthy/savoury/ olive fruit. Does not have the depth of the 2000, but certainly makes a statement.

James Halliday (2000 Vintage) says
Medium red-purple; strong oak is the first impression on the bouquet, then rich fruit underneath. The palate has plenty of depth, flavour and structure, also showing a varietally correct twist of olive on the finish.
