A benchmark wood-aged semillon with a sweet, lightly toasty fragrance of melon and gooseberries with herbal undertones handsomely backed by fresh vanilla oak. It's generous and finely crafted, with a tightly knit marriage of vibrant fruit and fresh lemony acidity. Suave and stylish, it finishes with an exceptional length of fruit.

The cool 2011 season has done wonderful things for Mount Horrocks Semillon, making for an impressively chiselled style. Semillon doesn’t always respond well to full barrel fermentation, but here the buttered toast and roast nut characters imparted serve to balance the taut, primary, zesty lemon drive of this high-tensile season, pulling into a honed finish of chalky mineral structure and considerable persistence.

The run of convincing, complex Horrocks semillon continues here, with plenty of waxy lemon-citrus fruit on the nose, along with some crusty sourdough bread, lime peel and spice. The palate has an exotic twist: lime-cooler flavours run even and deep. Very tangy and taut to close.

One of the Clare Valley's semillon champions, this has trademark savoury French oak influence, bright ripe lemons and lighter, more fragrant fruit aromas across the top. The palate packs some weight and chew, the oak adds attractive spice and structure to lemon fruit flavours and some toast to the crunchy youthful finish.

Lightly grassy melon and stonefruit aromas knit tightly with creamy wheatmeal oak qualities, while the generous, tangy palate presents a deep, vibrant core of lemon/melon fruit framed by sweet oak and racy mineral acids. Plenty of cut and polish, loads of attitude.

Light to medium yellow-green; a potent bouquet dominated by grassy/herbal varietal fruit, but with a subtle push from barrel fermentation in French oak adding to the complexity of the wine. The palate has good mouthfeel, complex yet fine; the barrel fermentation has worked very well indeed, and the wine has excellent length. Stelvin-capped and sourced from a single, hand-picked vineyard.
