Expert Reviews

Nick Stock (2010 Vintage) says
A very composed and welcoming nose of spice-dusted blackberry and plum fruits here, with oak adding in some attractive mocha and cola. The palate launches fresh and even, with fine, silken tannins rolling through an arc of mid-palate fleshy dark-cherry and plum flavour. Good balance and very approachable.

James Halliday (2007 Vintage) says
A vibrant wine in colour, aroma and flavour, with spicy black pepper fruits on the light- to medium-bodied palate, and a penetrating, zesty finish to the notably long palate.

James Halliday (2006 Vintage) says
Lighter coloured, and more fragrant, with spicy cherry and raspberry fruit flavours; fine tannins complete an elegant light- to medium-bodied wine.

Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh (2006 Vintage) says
For years the Mount Langi range of wines was fairly static - but very good. The range has suddenly expanded to include various single-vineyard wines, and the quality has improved. Don't know what they're eating for breakfast, but we want some too! Picture-perfect shiraz - though you have to enjoy the cooler, more peppery expression of shiraz to enjoy this. It's light on its feet, with cherry and lavender and mint mingling with various spices and even leather. Walsh took one look at the enjoyment written all over Mattinson's face and said, 'You are a pepper-iste!' If you are too, you'll like this.
The Big Red Wine Book 2009/10 2009
James Halliday (2005 Vintage) says
Bright colour; medium- to full-bodied; ripe plum, prune and blackberry fruit flavours; a linear style, with intensity running through to the finish.
