Mount Trio Vineyard Great Southern Shiraz

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2010 Vintage) says
Bright purple-crimson; both the bouquet and the medium-bodied palate bring spice, licorice and black fruits onto the centre stage, dusty tannins and good oak providing a mouth-watering finish.
Australian Wine Companion 2013 2012
Ray Jordan (2010 Vintage) says
Great value for money shiraz, this. Dark savoury plum aromas with spices and dried herbs tossed in for added complexity. Soft and plush in the middle palate with good structure and composition. Ripe tannins are grainy and the oak well weighted. Excellent wine for all seasons.
WA Wine Guide 2013 2012
James Halliday (2002 Vintage) says
Medium-bodied; an attractive mix of red and black fruits and spices; elegant style, fine tannins.
Australian Wine Companion 2006 2005
James Halliday (2001 Vintage) says
Medium to full red-purple; there are complex overtones to the primary black fruit aromas of the bouquet, the palate (like the Pinot Noir) neatly collecting the pieces, offering licorice, black plum, blackberry and spice, closing with soft tannins.
Australian Wine Companion 2004 2003
Ken Gargett (2001 Vintage) says
This is an extreme quality wineÑ don't you like the way everything these days is extreme? Extreme sports, extreme value, extreme behaviourÑ well this is extremely good, made by an extremely good winemaker from an extremely good vineyard. Mount Trio is actually a 'bit on the side' for new West Cape Howe winemaker Gavin Berry, and it continues to amaze with high-quality wines like this at really decent prices.
