James Halliday (2009 Vintage) says
A blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot and cabernet franc from the High Eden, matured for two years in new French oak; while obviously enough, the oak is a significant force, the rousing display of blackcurrant, redcurrant, plum and cassis fruit, together with fine tannins, emerges triumphant.

James Halliday (2007 Vintage) says
Healthy colour leads into a very elegant and fine wine, with vibrant blackcurrant, cassis and cherry fruit running through the long finish; it is amazing how easily the wine has absorbed two years in new French oak barriques, and how polished the tannins are. Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot/Cabernet Franc.

Not unexpectedly, has savoury/earthy overtones, but the focused, concentrated fruit is there; fine tannins.

Jeremy Oliver (2001 Vintage) says
A firm, old-fashioned and earthy red with a rather jammy and slightly confectionary expression of plum and berry fruits framed by a bony extract of drying tannins. There's a meaty and floral, pressings-like aspect about the nose, which also reveals herbal, dusty undertones of cedar/vanilla oak. Medium to full in weight, it's long and firm, but very astringent. Showing some bottle-age, it's developing some leathery complexity in addition to its minty, eucalypt-like fruit.

James Halliday (1996 Vintage) says
Medium red-purple; the bouquet opens with ripe, cassis fruit, with more cedary/briary notes thereafter. The palate has considerable concentration, with clean, rich fruit, lingering tannins and subtle oak. Certainly the best vintage so far under this label.
