Mt Beautiful Pinot Gris

Expert Reviews

Nick Stock (2011 Vintage) says
Utilising fruit sourced from the Cheviot Hills in North Canterbury, this perfumed pinot gris impresses with aromas of nashi pear, grapefruit and nectarine, surrounded by a halo of fragrant jasmine. Hints of almond paste and nougat as well, with a stony, vivid acid line and lovely, persistent, balanced finish.

Nick Stock (2009 Vintage) says
With quite a lifted and edgy nose, this takes ultra-ripe tropical fruits to the very limit. The palate holds it all together, though, making a sweep of rich pawpaw and mango fruit flavour that spikes through the finish.
The Good Wine Guide 2011
Michael Cooper (2009 Vintage) says
From first-crop vines and 30 per cent barrel-fermented, the 2009 vintage of this North Canterbury wine was picked at 26 brix. It's a powerful, fleshy, almost dry wine (5 grams/ litre of residual sugar) with stone-fruit and spice flavours, weighty and rounded, and excellent complexity and depth.
