Mudbrick Reserve Cabernet Merlot

Expert Reviews

Nick Stock (2010 Vintage) says
A deep, smooth and brooding impression on the nose here; this offers up plenty of plum, black cherry and spicy oak, dark chocolate too. The palate is all dark chocolate and cherry liqueur, and fine tannins roll through with chocolate flavour and texture. Dense and youthful; vibrant and concentrated.

Michael Cooper (2002 Vintage) says
Grown on Waiheke Island, the 2002 vintage is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (72 per cent) and Merlot (28 per cent). Matured for a year in French oak barriques (30 per cent new), it's a boldly coloured wine with a spicy bouquet. It was clearly too young when tasted in mid-2003, with a strong oak influence and taut raspberry and spice flavours that needed a year or two to soften.
