Muddy Water Slowhand Pinot Noir

Expert Reviews

Nick Stock (2007 Vintage) says
This is one stunning pinot noir! Complete and harmonious from the very outset, it has ripe dark cherry and sweet baking spices with brighter fragrant notes and deeper earthy nuances. The palate is superbly shaped with supple tannins filling out the middle and flavour that launches off the finish in classic pinot shape. Superb balance, length and poise - seek this out.

Michael Cooper (2007 Vintage) says
Since 2006, this label has replaced Mojo as the Waipara winery's top red. Based on the oldest vines (clone 10/5), 'tended by slow hands', it always reveals outstanding personality. Hand-picked at 24.7 to 25.4 brix from ultra-low-yielding vines (2.2 tonnes/hectare), and fermented with indigenous yeasts, the 2007 vintage was matured for 16 months in French oak barriques (30 per cent new). Rich and youthful in colour, it is dense, savoury and silky, with cherry, spice and herb flavours showing lovely depth, flow and complexity. Drink now or cellar.
