Michael Cooper (2002 Vintage) says
The 2001 vintage of this Martin borough red is the best yet. Richly coloured, with strong raspberry, herb and plum flavours, seasoned with spicy, nutty oak, it's a distinctly cool-climate style, fresh and crisp, with good intensity and some cellaring potential. The 2002 was harvested at over 23 brix and matured in French oak barriques (30 per cent new). Deeply coloured, with green-leaf aromas, it offers strong blackcurrant, herb and mint flavours, but lacks real ripeness, with a slightly high-acid finish.
