Michael Cooper (2003 Vintage) says
The 2003 vintage is a boldly coloured, French oak-aged Martinborough red with strong, plummy, peppery aromas and flavours, fresh, crisp and vibrant. It shows a slight lack of warmth, but is still very youthful; open 2006+.

Michael Cooper (2002 Vintage) says
This Martinborough producer makes a characterful Syrah (prior to the 2001 vintage labelled Shiraz), but its quality has varied. The 2002 vintage was harvested at over 25 brix and matured for 11 months in French oak casks (30 per cent new). Deep and youthful in colour, it has strong, black-pepper aromas. Fresh, smooth and vibrantly fruity, with plum and spice flavours, it's a moderately complex wine, but less ripe-tasting and intense than the top Hawke's Bay Syrahs.

This Martinborough producer makes a characterful Syrah (prior to the 2001 vintage labelled Shiraz). The 2000 was grown in the Fraser vineyard and matured for a year in French oak casks. It's a high-alcohol style (14.5 per cent) with strong, brambly, spicy, slightly herbal flavours and smooth tannins.
