Made from late harvested but not botrytised fruit, the seductive 1998 vintage of this Martinborough wine is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc (55 per cent) and Chardonnay (45 per cent), picked at 28 to 30 brix. Freeze-concentrated, then fermented to a residual sugar level of 150 grams/litre, it's a light yellow, delicate, citrusy, non-herbaceous wine, clean, soft and rich.
