Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh (2008 Vintage) says
Greenock is a star sub-region of the Barossa Valley and it's turned out another beauty here. Talk about depth - in colour and flavour. It's an inky, coal-like, curranty wine with a fresh veneer of quality oak-derived toast and cedar. Filigreed, sweet, jammy tannin. An aftertaste of Liquorice Alisons. Big and beautiful.

Developing bouquet of coffee, spices, plum and cherries. Quite a tannic palate but soft and flavoursome in the mouth. Cellaring potential. 5+

Interesting hessian-like characters on the nose. Concentrated, chocolaty palate with long, grainy tannins and a licorice finish.
