The abundance of sunshine in summer and icy cold winters, combined with ancient soils and a rich history of viticulture in the region makes the Barossa the best place in the world to make irresistibly big, rich robust red wines. ‘The Barossa’ is an apt description for this traditional blend for this region. This wine has received numerous accolades and is a fantastic wine for food matching.

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
Light colour, good hue; the bouquet is full of plum warm spices, and the palate has drive and energy to its peacock's display of cherry/cherry jam/plum/Turkish delight. Shiraz/Mataro/Grenache.

WINESTATE (2008 Vintage) says
Brooding earthy/spicy nose. Full, rich, oaky palate but has the berry fruit weight to match.

WINESTATE (2007 Vintage) says
Elegant wine that's complex and long, with excellent plum-like fruit aromas and flavours. Palate has weight and power, with fruit seamlessly integrated with oak/tannins. 3-5
