Naked Run Wines The First Clare Valley Riesling

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2012 Vintage) says
Pale quartz; the bouquet has a pleasing floral lift, but the intensity of the lime/lemon sherbet flavour of the palate catches you by surprise; the aftertaste refuses to go away; its has enough Clare Valley minerality in its make-up to age well.

Light straw-green; gentle lime/apple blossom aromas lead into a juicy palate, the flavours fairly and squarely in the lemon/lime spectrum; the long finish is very well balanced.

The first release by Naked Run, but their sixth vintage of riesling. Light straw-green, it has a perfumed blossom bouquet, then a penetrating and piercing citrus/green apple palate and a lingering, dry finish. Very impressive.

Confused? So am I, for the back label on each of the '10 and '09 asserts the wine is the first Naked Run Riesling release. It comes from the same single vineyard at Sevenhill, and has the same urgent thrust and power on the long palate as the '10.
