James Halliday (2009 Vintage) says
Deep purple-crimson, it is plush and velvety to the point of outright thickness, with unctuous black fruits, oak and dark chocolate bolstered by ripe tannins. We will never know what might have been achieved with 14% alc.

James Halliday (2006 Vintage) says
Higher alcohol and pH than the varietal; powerful with dense black fruit and regional dark chocolate, but the higher alcohol tends to slightly thin out the fruit line.

Angus Hughson (2006 Vintage) says
The first vintage of the Nashwauk, and already the seeds of a star have been sown. Finalist in the Jimmy Watson Trophy for 2007, it is a dense and mouthfilling McLaren Vale style which is lifted by the use of some very classy French Oak. Blackberry, chocolate and plum fruit on a dense and richly textured palate finishing with some good tannins and acidity. The Kaesler style is there is spades with the Wrecked Shiraz best described as a bit of Kaesler magic on McLaren Vale steroids.
WINESTATE (2006 Vintage) says
Nose slightly closed and quite inky. Rather hot, ripe fruit palate with lots of fruit cake flavours.
