Michael Cooper (2001 Vintage) says
The 2000 vintage grown at Gibbston, in Central Otago, is a distinctly cool-climate, high-acid style. Lightly oaked (25 per cent of the blend was handled in new French oak barriques), it has fresh, lemony, slightly buttery flavours of good depth, threaded with mouthwatering acidity. The 2001 is similar - crisp, very lemony and buttery, with plenty of flavour in a moderately complex style with firm acid spine.
