Michael Cooper (2006 Vintage) says
Botrytis plays a huge part in this wine,' says Hawke's Bay winemaker Alwyn Corban. The 2006 vintage was hand-harvested at 44 brix and fermented and matured for five months in French oak barriques (one and two-year-old). A golden, abundantly sweet wine (220 grams/litre of residual sugar), with beautifully ripe pear, spice and honey flavours, enriched but not overwhelmed by botrytis, it's the most finely balanced, exquisite wine yet under this label.
