Cracka Review

Campbell’s have a rich history of making Muscat dating back to times when Australia only produced fortifieds for export. Thankfully some traditions still exist and to this day these Rutherglen pioneers Campbells pave the way for. An amazing colour, with an intense nose of raisin and nuts, before a luscious and mouth-filling palate with a spirit lift. It lingers on the finish with unfailing persistence.

Winemaker's Notes

Bright amber gold with copper tints. Fresh raisin fruit backed by subtle oak characters. Luscious mouthfilling raisined fruit combine with the oak flavours to produce a wine of great length.

Campbells Awards & Accolades

"A wonderful Rutherglen Sticky style, richly flavoured with raisin and nut notes. A bit like a wonderful liquid fruit cake and would be a terrific match with a slice. When the world discovers these, the prices will sky rocket. Get in now!" - Mike Frost, The Courier Mail, Aug 2008

The Years Top Drops, Fortified Champion - Jeff Collerson 2005

"This is a fantastic style for at the end of a meal with a plate of King Island Endeavour Blur. Bright amber gold in appearance, it has lovely fresh raisin fruit aromas backed by a hint of grape spirit and aged oak characters. The palate displays luscious, mouthfilling raisin fruit, honeyed toast with amazing lingering flavour persistence." - Sally Fisk, Australian Wine Selector Summer 2005/06

Expert Reviews

James Halliday says
Light tawny red; very youthful raisiny fruit aromas, with the spirit fractionally jumpy - quite why, I am not sure. High-toned fruit on the palate adds a haunting edge to the flavour, almost floral. Intriguing and delicious.
Australian Wine Companion 2003
Tyson Stelzer says
Muscat is the most decadent way to finish a winter night and I’ve just discovered that in Coonawarra they start with it, too! Campbell’s effortlessly meets both briefs, thanks to its freshness of apricot and marmalade, countered by richness of coffee and honey.
