NV Chambers Rosewood Rutherglen Muscat

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

Chambers are famed as one of the oldest wineries in Rutherglen and continue to make fortified styles as they did over a century ago. In fact before table wine in Australia, this style was all you could find so you could say they’ve spent a long time perfecting it. Blending from previous vintages ensure that Chambers produce the perfect house style of Muscat. This wine is all about intense raisined characters with some floral notes, you’ll enjoy a rich, fruit filled palate with lovely spice. It’s beautiful on its own with coffee but matches well with dark chocolate or for ultimate decadence when poured on vanilla ice cream.

Winemaker's Notes

Fresh raisin aromas and flavours are evident even in this, the youngest material in the muscat classification system.

Small yields of flavour packed fruit from Rosewood’s aged Muscat à petits grains vines are aged and blended with other years to bring out the clean, fine fruit characteristics of this old favourite. It’s young, cherry, caramel and coffee flavours can be savoured with, or in place of, dessert.

A flamboyant, highly perfumed liqueur apricot and toasted nut bouquet; very rich and sweet, but in great balance and harmony; long and the spirit cleans up the finish well

Huon Hooke & Ralph Kyte-Powell says
A younger version of Chambers Muscat, and one of great charm. The nose has succulent grapey, raisiny aromas with a fragrant touch of Turkish delight. The palate follows the fresh, sweet, intense theme with attractive persistence, albeit painted with a lighter palette than the super-dooper oldies. A delicious wine to enjoy with good vanilla ice-cream.
