NV De Bortoli Sacred Hill Reserve Tawny

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

A tawny port for this price! Get outta here! It's true folks, the masters of bargain wines have produced a tawny for your after dinner pleasure that would go great with coffee and a cheese plate. Aromas of dried fruits, butterscotch and chocolate rise from the glass, whilst the palate is sweet and medium-bodied with licks of roasted nuts, mouth-coating caramel flavours, and a smooth, soft finish.

Winemaker's Notes

Sacred Hill was inspired by the name given by a local hermit to the low rocky outcrop that overlooks the Riverina plain. The hermit, who now has almost mythical status in the region, inhabited a cave in the hillside for many years. Sacred Hill has won awards at major national and international shows including Best Value awards. Leading wine writers have extolled the exceptional quality and value of this popular brand.

Appearance: Medium caramel in colour.

Nose: Aromas of caramel, dried fruits and nuts.

Palate: Luscious with generous caramel, chocolate and raisin flavours and aged oak adding depth.

Food: Perfect after a meal with a platter of cheeses, dried fruits and nuts.

Cellaring: The wine has been aged on oak and is designed for current consumption but will keep in the bottle for several years.
