NV Petaluma Croser Sparkling

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

The Croser sparkling is one of the most reliable bottle of bubbles you can get. It rarely misses a beat, and this NV offering would be the perfect way to kick you next dinner party off. Ripe stone fruits and whiffs of apple pie waft out of the glass, along with some citrus and dairy. The palate is pretty dry with some richness to the mouthfeel, licks of buttered toast, fine bubbles, and a dry, fruity finish.

Winemaker's Notes

Croser NV, while dry has a slightly higher dosage than Croser Vintage. This delivers a rich palate incorporating fresh and vibrant Chardonnay fruit characters; apple and nectarine with Pinot Noir adding power and lifted strawberry notes. The wine has a creamy, almond brioche finish and a fine mousse.

Sixty-four percent pinot noir gives richness, fruit weight and 18 months on lees gives almond brioche and creaminess.

James Halliday says
A complex multi-vintage blend of Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir/Chardonnay; has a powerful, layered palate with brioche, creamy notes and a swag of apple and stone fruit flavours; strong finish. Convincing wine.
