Karangahake Gorge winemaker Horst Hillerich barrel-fermented and lees-aged 25 per cent of his 1996 wine . Grown in Hawke's Bay, it's not an intensely varietal style, but satisfyingly full-bodied, with plenty of ripe, non-herbaceous, slightly nutty flavour.
