Michael Cooper (1998 Vintage) says
Less beguiling than the superbly savoury, mouthfilling and complex 1996 but still rewarding, the 1997 vintage is yellow/light gold, a characterful, biscuity, slightly honied wine with good weight, some mealy complexity and strong lemon/peach flavours. Drink 1999-2000. The 1998 is fragrant, mouthfilling, soft and creamy, with toasty oak seasoning its deliciously ripe tropical fruit flavours.
