WINESTATE (2009 Vintage) says
Citrusy and slightly minerally, in a fruit-driven style with a touch of oak and lees-aging complexity.
WINESTATE Volume 34 (2011) 2011
Michael Cooper (1996 Vintage) says
For its humble price tag, Seifried's bottom-tier Nelson Chardonnay is consistently good. The '95 is a tangy wine with quite good depth of straightforward, lemony, slightly limey flavours. The 1996 vintage is a fruit-driven style - 70 per cent of the final blend was handled entirely in stainless steel tanks, and 30 per cent was matured for six months in one year-old French oak barriques. The fresh, direct fruit aromas lead into a full-bodied, crisp and lively wine with good depth of peachy, citrusy, slightly limey flavours and a smooth, fractionally off-dry finish.
