Michael Cooper (2001 Vintage) says
The 2000 vintage ), matured for six months in American oak barriques (new to four-year-old), is a blend of Marlborough and Gisborne grapes. It's a middleweight wine with good colour and crisp, berryish flavours, showing a slight lack of warmth and softness. The 2001 , grown in Marlborough, was matured for a year in American oak casks and bottled unfiltered. It has deep colour and strong cassis/plum flavours. A mouthfilling, youthful wine with a hint of mint chocolate and spicy oak adding complexity, it's worth cellaring; open 2004.

Promisingly rich in colour, the sturdy 1998 vintage of this Marlborough red offers vibrant plummy flavours, fresh and strong. The 1999, 50 per cent matured in American oak casks, is a flavoursome red with strong herbal, fennel characters.

Medium red-purple; the bouquet offers very pretty, ripe plummy fruit. The fresh palate has juicy berry flavours in an elegant, uncomplicated mode.

Michael Cooper (1996 Vintage) says
The 1995 vintage of this French oak-aged Marlborough red is a fresh, light style with pleasant, but not rich, flavour. The smooth 96 displays full, bright colour and good depth of blackcurrant, plum and spice-like flavour. It's not a complex style but fresh, ripe, buoyant and sensibly priced.
