Armed with impressive CVs, pinot obsessives Will Byron, Kasper Herman and Sam Middleton forged their friendships working vintage at Coldstream Hills in 2006. A year later they set about forming their own label Ð Onannon Ð and this is their mighty impressive first effort. Drawing on fruit sourced from Philip Island, this is a compact, dark and tightly wound wine where smells of sweet plums, sour cherries, cedar and spices set the scene for a mouthful of wine that's fleshy and rich with great intensity of flavour and lovely balance. Drink it with barbecued quail, dried figs and olives.
