Orden Tercera Verdejo

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

If you are a sav blanc lover, you are going to adore verdejo! It's got a lot in common with savvy, from it's tropical fruits and citrus nose, right through to its crisp, lively, unoaked palate with lush tropical flavours, and a subtle spicy finish. It makes for an intriguing alternative.

Winemaker's Notes

Not Verdelho, but not not-Verdelho either ... meaning, a local variant of the Verdelho family, long isolated in the high, sandy hills of Rueda (1.5 hours north-west of Madrid), where it has mutated into a stand-alone variety of similar flavour, but finer, with greater nerve and length. Often blended with a little Viura and/or Sauvignon Blanc.

Very spicy, almost aftershavy pine-lime, kiwi fruit, a hint of Rueda sand aromatics. Fresh, punchy nose jumping with spice-nuanced fruit. Richer than previous vintages, full soft fruit with good tannin-and-earth texture.
