Outlaw Wines Barossa Valley Cabernet Franc Grenache Shiraz

James Halliday (2009 Vintage) says
Looks suspiciously like a shotgun marriage a trois, but the outcome is a truly delightful surprise, with fresh, juicy raspberry and cherry fruits. All that is required is a glass, for there is no need to delay.

Release notes say the Cabernet Franc came from Lyndoch...I can't imagine too much Cab Franc grown in the Barossa, but it works a treat in this wild ferment 'mongrel' blend basket pressed and hand made by the owners Damon de Ruiter and Nigel Thiele. Super plush red fruits and jubey aromas. Warm and full, the Grenache & Shiraz giving lovely long Barossa red fruits. Cabernet Franc giving the wine a dusty complexity and plenty of herbal interest. The new American oak being counterpointed by 2 year old Chardonnay French Oak barrels providing a full mouth feel to round the wine without being over the top and completely oakey. Good drinking and great value.
