Paddy Borthwick Sauvignon Blanc

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

What is a New Zealand wine producer without a sav blanc, not a New Zealander we say! Luckily Paddy Borthwick has produced one, and it is like a whole tropical island holiday in a glass. There are plenty of passionfruit, gooseberry and citrus smells and flavours in this wine that will have you thinking of blue skies and sandy beaches. The palate is light and slightly creamy with brisk limy acidity, and a very dry, zesty finish

Winemaker's Notes

Gooseberry, guava and lycee aromas are supported by intense flavours of tropical fruit. This is a wine with great balance, structure and intensity.

Nick Stock (2012 Vintage) says
This has charming passionfruit, sweet fragrant melon, lemon citrus and a little rose water-like, lifted perfume - really bright and aromatic. The palate s straight-shooting and moves more along passionfruit tropical flavours, with a tangy lime finish.

Nick Stock (2009 Vintage) says
Paddy Borthwick has captured a rich, juicy sauvignon in full flight here - there's plenty of tropical fruit and a really luscious texture. Impressive for its weight and concentration, it wields all the acid necessary to balance - long passionfruit finish.
