Palliser Estate Noble Riesling

Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (2008 Vintage) says
The 2008 vintage, grown in Martinborough, is a late-harvest style with lemony, appley, slightly honeyed aromas and flavours, abundant sweetness (111 grams/litre of residual sugar) and gentle acidity. It's a light wine, fresh and elegant, with aging potential.

James Halliday (1999 Vintage) says
Glowing golden green; intense apricot and peach fruit aromas seem to have a hint of plasticene lurking behind them. However, the palate throws off any suggestion of ignoble rot, with more of those apricot and peach flavours in a luscious mouthful; the acidity is not abrasive.

Michael Cooper (1999 Vintage) says
The 1999 vintage is a classic sweet Riesling, with intense grapefruit/honey aromas and flavours. Made from botrytised Martinborough grapes, it's a golden, beautifully fresh and poised wine, weighty, well-structured and intense, with a rich, honey-sweet finish. Drink now or cellar.
