James Halliday (2003 Vintage) says
A very complex wine, entering the mouth with stalky/savoury edges to the dark plum fruit; if the dry tannins on the finish and aftertaste ever soften, will be a good bottle of pinot noir, but, right now, they sabotage it. We can but live in hope.

James Halliday (2001 Vintage) says
Dark, deep purple-red; a huge wine on both bouquet and palate, with massive flavour and extract; lacks light and shade, and if it is to ever come around, it will be in more than 5 years time. All of the judges and associates at the 2002 Tasmanian Wines Show gave it lesser points than the varietal version.
