Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh (2008 Vintage) says
This is a shiraz with a wee spot of viognier in it. It's a gloriously pretty wine. Indeed the word that comes to mind is 'unforced'. Meaty, toasty, cherried - it's like drinking a platter of the best Spanish ham you've ever had. Has that kind of silky texture too. Lovely length, but not a huge amount of tannin. Maybe some burnt aniseed too. An outstandingly complex, but gentle, wine.

Paradise IV is one of the finds of the year - especially the 2007 red releases. You can often pick the outstanding wines by the quality of their tannin. The tannins here are fine and bright and folded deftly through the wine, in the process providing a sure footing for a delicious array of flavours. It's an immensely savoury wine, with spice, licorice and cherry, everything progressing towards a flourishing finish.
