Paringa Estate The Paringa Shiraz

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2012 Vintage) says
Matured for 18 months in new and 1yo French barriques. Despite identical vinification to the Estate, this power-packed shiraz is in blackberry and plum territory from the outset; licorice, cracked black pepper and full, ripe tannins provide complexity and depth of a high order.

James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
Deep, dark colour; the rich bouquet of blackberry, satsuma plum and pepper leads into an intense and long palate; the oak is perfectly balanced and integrated, the tannins likewise. From the estate vineyard, a wine inheriting a glittering show record.
Australian Wine Companion 2012
James Halliday (2007 Vintage) says
Strong crimson-purple; an elegant yet intense spray of spices, pepper, plum and red cherry fruit on the bouquet and fore-palate, then fine-grained savoury tannins on the finish; oak balanced and integrated.

James Halliday (2005 Vintage) says
Saturated color; significantly greater volume of flavor than the Estate, even though alcohol is similar; all share the elements of spice and cracked pepper that make these wines so special
Australian Wine Companion 2009 2008
James Halliday (2004 Vintage) says
Deep colour; medium- to full-bodied; concentrated rich, peppery, spicy fruits more to black than red; seamless oak and tannins; different style to the Estate, but the same quality; both wines picked May 13.
Australian Wine Companion 2007 2006
James Halliday (2003 Vintage) says
Deep colour, good hue; a complex and layered array of black cherry, licorice and spice; fine tannins.
