James Halliday (2003 Vintage) says
Medium-bodied combination of mint, chocolate, earth, spice and black fruits; fine tannins; good length.

James Halliday (2002 Vintage) says
Powerful but already rounded and balanced; medium-bodied with sweetly ripe, but not jammy, fruit.

James Halliday (2001 Vintage) says
Medium red-purple; the moderately intense bouquet has a range of berry, mint and leaf, together with a touch of spice, the oak subservient. A similar array of flavours comes through on the palate, once again accompanied by mint, but without dominating the wine.

James Halliday (2000 Vintage) says
Medium to full red-purple; cassis/blackberry with a nice hint of cedar, and little or none of the mint which can sometimes dominate. The palate has dark savoury fruit, a touch of chocolate, fine tannins and cedary oak. Quality wine.

James Halliday (1998 Vintage) says
Dark red-purple; voluminous wafts of mint seem to obscure the other aromas of the bouquet; the palate is as minty as the bouquet suggests, though not more so, and there is plenty of dark berry fruit underpinning the mint. Others will think the wine is marvellous; I am intolerant of mint.

James Halliday (1997 Vintage) says
Medium to full red-purple; the bouquet is concentrated, with some earthy/briary notes over dark fruit aromas; mouth-coating ripe, dense prune and mulberry fruit - with a touch of mint — finishes with soft tannins.

James Halliday (1994 Vintage) says
Medium purple-red; a sweet, spotlessly clean and fragrant bouquet of redcurrant, blackcurrant and mint leads on to a spectacularly flavoured palate with those archetypal Central Victorian minty flavours which transcend the varietal mix and are complimented by the vanilla of the American oak; finishes with soft tannins.
