Patrick Piuze Petit Chablis
Patrick Puize is very much a 'new kid on the block' in Chablis. He has made wine in his own right since 2008 and he is making quite an impact, so now is the time to get on board the Puize train. This crisp, dry, attractive little wine is all apples and lemons with a slight herbaceous edge. It's the same on the palate, along with a slightly salty texture, typical of Chablis, and a dry, clean, citrus finish. It is quite approachable now, and would be perfect with some sushi.
A fresh, bright and pretty nose of green fruit, lemon rind and a hint of algae leads to racy and well detailed flavors that possess plenty of personality on the punch and mineral-inflected finish. This is quite good if not truly special for its level.
