Paul Bettio Barbera

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

It makes sense that Paul Bettio makes Barbera in the King Valley. It’s a nod to his forebears in Italy and the Valley has become like a little Italy with a multitude of indigenous varieties grown there. This shows a rich core of curranty fruit with spice and hints of vanilla before a soft tannin structure on the palate and sprightly acids. The classic match for pizza or pasta.

Winemaker's Notes

This fruit for this wine was grown on our Cheshunt vineyard, processed and bottled on the Paul Bettio King Valley Estate.

Winemaker Damien Star, has created this smooth wine with lots of dark fruits true to its italian origins. The wine has been aged in seasoned French and American oak. Vanilla and spice aromas accompany dark red cherry, raspberry and currant flavours;displaying a soft palate and a fine tannin structure with well balanced acidity.

This scrumptious Barbera is well suited to hearty casseroles like Osso Bucco and other dishes with strongly flavoured sauces.
