An amalgam of regional cabernet characters here: cassis, cedar, liquorice and plums - quite ripe. The palate has plenty of flesh and juicy presence from the get-go, adding fine, grainy tannins as it goes. Nice progression and balance.

Toby Bekkers and the Paxton team are doing some incredible things given the size and nature of the vineyards they work. Biodynamic principles are employed where possible in the vineyard, while a less is more approach is taken in the winery. From the dry-grown 60-year old Vale Vineyard, expect a dense and full-fruited nose of sweet plum, oak, spice, while the palate is sweet, dark and intense with layers of fruit, oak, and balanced acidity. Drink it with chargrilled lamb.
