Giorgio Pelissero could be described as a 'terroirist'. He is quoted as saying he likes to "put the soil in the bottle", but not literally! His Barbaresco grapes are grown on differing soils in the Barbaresco wine region, which he likes to express in his wines. This is a bloody serious Barbaresco that flaunts aromas of dark cherries and berries on the nose, all wrapped up in florals and savouriness. The palate is tight and poised with a dark fruit middle, earthy-edged fine tannins, tightly-coiled acidity, and a lingering, dry finish. It's from a stellar vintage and will live for years.
he nose starts with floral and herbal notes, and soon captures your attention with deeper black fruit aromas. The palate continues these flavours delivered harmoneously and with impeccable balance and great length. Silky tannins. Awesome wine from yet another great vintage for Giorgio.
